Tasmania pleas for migrants

TASMANIA needs federal subsidies or the granting of "Tasmanian citizenship" to encourage migration before it buckles under a skills shortage and a rapidly ageing population, state Liberal leader Sue Napier warned.
"Tasmania, as part of regional Australia, urgently needs policy and strategy to address migration," she said.
"Tasmania should receive a share of skilled migrants and reflects economic needs, not population base," Mrs Napier said in an article published in Options
