Minister to hold
forum on InternetPOTENTIAL migrants
now have an official entry direct to the Minister for
Immigration, Mr Philip Ruddock to raise matters
concerning policy issues.
As part of the 2001-2002 Migration and Humanitarian
Programmes consultation process, the Minister established
a temporary on-line public discussion forum to allow
people to contribute to a discussion about immigration
issues and associated settlement issues.
This forum will be open until 15 December 2000 to receive
comments and queries on the 2001-2002 Migration and
Humanitarian Programmes. After this time, the Minister
will provide a general commentary summing up key issues
raised during the period of the forum.
All material published to the site will also remain
public on this web-site until the closure of the forum on
31 January 2001.
This is not a forum for raising queries/comments relating
to specific individual immigration cases. If you have
such a query, you should contact your local Department of
Immigration and Multicultural Affairs office in your
State or Territory or at the appropriate overseas post.
Neither the Minister not the Department of Immigration
and Multicultural Affairs, will respond to individual
messages. However on 4 December 2000, Mr Ruddock will
provide comments on key issues raised after the site has
been open for several weeks, and shortly after the
conclusion of the forum on 15 December 2000.
Before you compose your message, please ensure that you
have read the Terms of Use.
Messages received will be scrutinised for consistency
with the Terms of Use before they can be posted to this
site. There is no guarantee that your query or comment
will be posted on this site.
You are also encouraged to read the Ministers
introductory comments prior to submitting a comment or
query.
