Top skifields cater for all
IT'S just a two hour scenic drive from Canberra to the Snowy Mountains
where you'll discover beautiful alpine flowers, top ski resorts, wild
brumbies, fishing, trekking, horse riding and much more.
Spectacular peaks, clear mountain streams and the clean, crisp high
country air provide a brilliant backdrop for a holiday in the Snowies.
Perisher Blue, Thredbo, Charlotte Pass and Selwyn Snowfields offer lots
of fun in the snow, from skiing and snowboarding to snow. shoeing and
tubing.
In summer, Thredbo offers chairlift rides, golfing, bushwalking and bobsledding.
Just an hour's drive from Cooma, you'll reach Selwyn Snowfields in the northern section of Kosciuszko National Park.
Selwyn is 'drive-in' snow sport at its best with the car park only a snowball's throw from the ski slopes.
Twelve lifts and plenty of slopes for beginners means the skiing and snowboarding at Selwyn will keep you busy all day.
Families love Selwyn Snowfields. If you're just sticking your toes in
the snow for the first time, Selwyn has ideal family friendly terrain
for first timers to more seasoned skiers and snowboarders.
Special prices are available for children under 15 and children under
six, ski and snowboard instructional programmes for children from three
years of age and a specialised Snow Sports School learning area.
Snow Tubing at Selwyn has also been a family favourite for years - kids can choose from the Wombat and Snowflake Tube Parks.
At Perisher Blue Ski Resort, 2006 promises to be a great year.
The Snow Tube park provides snow tube rides for fun lovers and thrill
seekers of every age - specially groomed lanes will allow riders the
chance to race down the slopes at high speed on inflatable tubes and
then catch a lift back to the top. |
