Police checks out for young

IT IS no longer a requirement for an applicant who is less than 16 years old to provide evidence of a check of criminal records by the Australian Federal Police ('a police check').
This implements the policy intention for these provisions, which is that applicants who are less than 16 years old should not have to provide evidence of police checks.
The amendment brings the character requirement for applicants under 16 years of age for onshore visa into alignment with other skilled migration visa classes.
All other people planning to emigrate to Australia or live there for more than 12 months must provide a police clearance and also a health clearance.
