Fulfill your dreams in upper hutt
UPPER
Hutt city is the capital gateway to the outdoors. Only a 25 minute
drive or 40 minute train ride north from Wellington City.
Nestled by the Hutt River - unique in the world for its pristine
condition and trout fishing grounds despite flowing through two cities
- Upper Hutt is set amongst bush-clad hills with easy access to
recreational pursuits ranging from quiet native forest and riverside
walks to the varied mountain biking terrain and the numerous golf
courses.
If you are feeling really adventurous what better way to experience the
spectacular views and scenery of the surrounding region, than on a

The city is renowned for its many parks and recreation areas like the
prize-winning Maidstone Max Skate Park one of Upper Hutt's star
attractions. Catering for the whole family, Maidstone Max has something
for every one. From the 1000m2 Skate Park to the 60 meter long twin
flying fox the whole family will enjoy themselves.
H2O Xtream indoor aquatic centre is the place to go to swim, slide or
just hang out. Body surf the wave pool, get set to get scared on the
"Darkness Falls" slide and have fun on the rapid river ride. With a
separate lane pool, sauna, spa and steam room it is definitely the
place to chill out.
Expressions Arts & Entertainment Centre, Upper Hutt's superb arts
and cultural venue, including a 200 seat theatre, two galleries, sports
hall and a café. Catch a show while you're in town or browse the
art galleries.
Why not visit Historic Golder Cottage and Silver Stream Railway Museum both of which provide a glimpse of a bygone era.
The Akatarawa Valley boasts many attractions including Cottage Hill
Herb Farm, Staglands Wildlife Reserve set in 25 acres bursting with
rare native and exotic birds and animals, Efil Doog Garden of Art-
Wellington's largest private garden adorned with sculptures, Bluebank
Blueberry and Emu Farm and The Blueberry Farm.
