Visa services going online

THE New Zealand Immigration Service has officially launched Online Services as an eGovernment initiative that helps people to apply for a Visa or Permit over the Internet by accessing the Government's website.
At present, only visitors from countries that have a Visa Waiver arrangement with New Zealand, who are currently in New Zealand and who want to extend their period of stay.
To use this service, your browser needs to be able to connect to the secure server using the https protocol. If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 with Service Pack 2, or Netscape Navigator 4.74 or above, you will be able to use the site. Older browsers will not work properly.
You are eligible to use the new Online Services if:
* You are currently in New Zealand on a visitor permit.
* You wish to extend your first Visitor Permit for a total stay not exceeding nine months.
* You are from a country that does not need a visitor visa to enter New Zealand.
* You will pay your application fee by VISA or MasterCard.
* Your passport does not expire within three months of the end of your new Visitor Permit.
* You have no undecided applications.
