Sunshine State offers something for everyone
WITH
the islands of the Great Barrier Reef, sun-kissed beaches, lush
rainforests and rugged Outback, Queensland offers something for
everyone.
Queensland enjoys an average 300 sunny days every year, making it the perfect vacation destination all year round.
In Queensland you'll never run out of places to see and things to do.
Tropical North
Tropical North Queensland is home to many starkly different worlds,
ranging from the dreamily beautiful coastline and islands to the rugged
and dramatic tropics and outback. As gateway to the Great Barrier Reef
and the top of Australia, and a portal to its red interior, it will
open your eyes.
Great Barrier Reef
This natural wonder is as big as Britain and Ireland combined, has more
than 1,000 islands, from sandy cays to rainforest isles, and supports
prolific marine life.
You can reach coral sites by air and water taxi, and scuba dive or
snorkel. Comfortable accommodation is available on secluded islands.
Whitsundays
In the Whitsundays, between the north Queensland coast and the Great
Barrier Reef, the days are timeless, the sand white and soft and the
water an unimaginable blue.
Snorkelling, lazing, whale-watching, and swimming among coral - it is all here.
Brisbane and surrounds
Step into Brisbane and your worries lift gently off your shoulders.
Here the mood is light, the sun warms your face and the people are
among the world's friendliest.
Add superb dining and a vibrant nightlife and you'll find a destination you won't want to leave.
Gold Coast
Queensland's Gold Coast, an hour south of Brisbane, is famous for its
fine, white beaches, but that's just a part of the story. With a
cluster of theme parks, great shopping and restaurants, it is the place
for travellers who want to do it all - quickly! |
